1152 LOCK - Eleven Rack Rigs +Effect Presets

576 "LOCK" Eleven Rack Rigs

(1152 LOCK Rigs total, if you include the MONO version of each pack)

+ EFFECT PRESETS!

Eleven Rack Expansion Pack Required!

LOCK Rigs are high gain rigs with lots of top end and low end. They feature a PEQ with a deep cut in the mids/lower mids. These rigs have lots of "grind" to them. If you have too much high/low end, you can use a High and Low pass in post, like you are probably already doing.

LOCK Rigs are related to "DREAD" rigs - so make sure you download the DREAD rig pack as well.

LOCK rigs use a Green Overdrive, Parametric EQ, Multi-Chorus, Flanger, and Reverb.

Like other rigs before (FURY pack, DREAD pack, and more) LOCK rigs use a Chorus for more width and a Flanger to add depth and width.

Each rig is laid out in the same logical way.

LOCK XTC=B30=57F

or

LOCK M2=C30=67N

or

LOCK M2-C30-67N (for mono rigs)

You can easily tell what the rig chain is, simply by looking at the name.

EXAMPLE: LOCK MDR=B30=57F

First we have the rig pack name, LOCK.

Then the AMP used. In this case "MDR" means Mesa/Modern Dual Rectifier.

The equal sign "=" lets us know the Rig Out is Stereo.

Then the Cabinet used. In this case "B30" is the 2X12 B30 cab.

Again the "=" lets us know the Rig Out is Stereo.

Then the Microphone used. In this case, the DYN 57 mic.

And finally, a letter. In this case it is "F", meaning the mic is OFF Axis. If the letter was "N" it would mean ON Axis.

Every mic, in both positions, is used.

ALL rigs use this naming convention. Use the Legend below to understand what each item means.

LEGEND:

The Amp initials are -

M2 = Mesa Mark II c+ ('85 M-2 Lead on Eleven Rack)

MDR = Mesa Dual Rectifier ('92 Treadplate Modern on Eleven Rack)
VDR= Mesa Dual Rectifier VINTAGE ('92 Treadplate Vintage on Eleven Rack)

XTC = Bogner Ecstasy ('97 RB-01b Red on Eleven Rack)

SLO = Soldano SLO-100 ('89 SL-100 Drive on Eleven Rack)

SOD = Digidesign/Avid Custom Modern Super Overdrive (DC Modern SOD on Eleven Rack)

MOD = Digidesign/Avid Custom Modern Overdrive (DC Modern Overdrive on Eleven Rack)

JCM = Marshall JCM800 2203  ('82 Lead 800 -100W on Eleven Rack)

J8M = Digidesgn/Avid Custom Modern 800 (DC 800 Modern on Eleven Rack)

The cabs used -

B30 = 2X12 B30

C30 = 4X12 Classic 30

65W = 4X12 65 Watt

Every mic is used on each rig variation to make it easy to search out each possible sound without needing to change things manually.

The Microphones -

57 = DYN 57

7 = DYN 7

49 = DYN 409

42 = DYN 421

67 = COND 67

MONO RIG or STEREO RIG

You can easily tell whether the output is Stereo or Mono by the way each item is separated.

(-) means MONO output

(=) means STEREO output

Each rig pack has a Stereo or Mono option. I suggest that you start with the regular (stereo) rigs.

If you use the Mono rigs (-), you won't get the width that you do from the Stereo rigs (=).
But when recording mono tracks, you may find that the Mono rigs sound better when double tracked - but this is not always the case. So try out each type of rig when recording.

You may find that using a Stereo Rig sounds better. You could record one mono track with "Eleven Rig L" and another mono track with "Eleven Rig R" when using a Stereo rig. So just experiment.

Included EFFECT PRESETS

GREEN JRC OVERDRIVE

Most of the Rigs use the Green JRC Overdrive preset from the DREAD pack - so be sure to download that rig pack so you have all the "gOD" presets.

However, since the DREAD pack did not include the JCM, Modern 800, or Modern OD amps, a Green JRC OD setting was created for each of those amps and is included in the "Effect Presets" folder.

PARAMETRIC EQ

There are 3 LOCK parametric EQ settings included. Every rig uses Preset number '01'

Preset '02' emphasizes a different/higher bass frequency.

Preset '03' is about ALL OUT low end - meaning it centers around a very low bass range and the default 'Q' setting is higher than the other presets. This is only for when you want chest pounding low end!

THE PARAMETRIC EQ and Low End:

There will be a HP12 on each EQ setting, but because the filter does not drop straight off if you use a higher Q setting, I use the High Pass to create resonance in the low end. If there is too much bass, you can simply dial the Q lower and the bass will drop off. If there is not enough bone shaking bass, dial it up.

For example if I have too much bass and the HP12 is set on 4.9 Q, then I dial it down to 3.7 for example. If I want more resonance, then I dial it up to 5.4 or more, ect....

These EQ settings, along with the Green Overdrive can create fizz. You can deal with this by tweaking parameters like maybe PRESENCE or Treble, or if you are recording it would probably be easier to just use a High Pass and Low Pass to deal with the extra high end and low end so it sits better in your mix.

DON'T try to dial out all detectable fizz, you will just drive yourself crazy and once its in a mix with cymbals cracking, you won't hear it anyway. Just dial it down enough to sit well in a full mix, or don't if it's not bothersome.

As mentioned, each rig uses P-EQ setting 01, however, if you change the EQ setting, then want to go back by using the preset EQ - chances are it will not be exactly the same.

That is because the LF of each rig has been tweaked higher or lower from the default setting to fit each rig. So you may need to adjust the LF Q a bit higher/lower to get back to the exact setting, or just reload the rig file.

MULTI-CHORUS

There are 3 LOCK Multi-Chorus presets included

01-Benoni LOCK MC Width 100 3
02-Benoni LOCK MC Width 100 6
03-Benoni LOCK MC Width 100 6 open

Each rig will use Preset 02

Switch to preset 01 for a tighter sound (less width) or switch to preset 03 for a very wide sound.

"100" refers to the WIDTH setting

'3' or '6' refer to the VOICE setting

Be sure to download the FURY and DREAD Rig packs to get more Multi-Chorus settings!

If you want the sound even tighter, try reducing the width and/or voices, raise the Low-Cut, and reduce the Mix and or Depth. You can also switch in presets from the DREAD or FURY rig packs,
like the 1-Benoni DREAD MC Width 75 3 -1 preset

FLANGER

There are 3 LOCK Flanger Presets included

Benoni LOCK FL CC 01
Benoni LOCK FL CC 02
Benoni LOCK FL CC 03

Each Rig will use Preset 01, but you can try the others as well.

Be sure to download the FURY Rig pack for more Cab Changer (CC) Flanger Presets!

DELAY

There are 9 Dynamic Delay settings included.

The Delay is OFF by default.

These delay setting will work on their own, but when included with a high reverb setting they provide even more width, almost to the point of feeling surrounded by sound.
_____________________________

REVERB

There are 6 'Eleven Stereo Reverb' LOCK Presets included.

Every rig will have 'Benoni LOCK Rvb Studio Main' as the default setting, just to add a bit of room sound.

Switch to any of the presets with an X at the end to add even more width, and maybe even switch ON the DELAY for an encompassing guitar sound.

Original or Extra Crispy?

The Mesa Mark II c+ (M2) and Mesa Dual Rectifier (MDR and VDR) come in the original settings I made + another version I refer to as Extra Crispy; which simply means more gain, more high-end.

When making the LOCK rigs, I started with the M2 and MDR. After completing all the other rig packs I realized that, while good, the original rig settings for the M2 and MDR were not as saturated as the other rig packs. So after tweaking each rig again and saving, I was going to delete the original settings.

However, since I still liked the original settings, instead of just trashing them or keeping them for myself, I decided to include both versions.

Be sure to keep these rigs in their original folders because the rigs have the same names, but different settings.

Tweak the rigs as you wish. Try turning thing ON or OFF, like the GREEN OD, Reverb, ect........

Adjust GAIN/DRIVE as you wish.

If you are playing chunky riffs, you may want to raise the GATE so it cuts off sooner, or if recording, you could use a Gate plug-in or manually edit the audio to cut off exactly when needed.

Most of all, ENJOY! I hope you can find a few rig in this pack that will work for you.
